Keep Your Floors Clean This Snow Season With Waterproof Shoe Covers

Here in Central Oregon we're deep into winter weather. Alternating periods of deep snow and warm rain have combined to create exceptionally wet conditions on jobsites and around town. Constant snowmelt has led to water and mud - particularly in construction environments.

Wet conditions lead to wet floors, and wet floors can cause finish damage. Fortunately, an easy to use and low cost solution is available; Shoe Covers.

Polyproylene Shoe Covers are our most cost effective waterpoof shoe covers. These plastic based covers feature an elastic band at the top which ensures a secure fitment to boots, even when trudging through water and mud. The polyprolylene material is enhanced with a diamond-plate like construction which offers skid resistance on wet floors, making these a safer alternative to smooth plastic covers.

Shoe Covers are commonly provided by contractors to homeowners and tradesmen alike. Many of our customers will place a case of these shoe covers at the front door of a home for all entrants to use, since shoe covers are such a worthwhile method in which to prevent muddy, dirty, and damaged floors. Furthermore, prospective home buyers are typically impressed with builders' attention to detail when floors are being properly protected by providing shoe covers.

Multiple quantities of these shoe covers are available. Large scale builders can opt for a case of 150 pairs, or, if you have a small project/need for them they are also available in bags of 50 and bags of 10 pairs. A wide array of shoe covers are available to suit differing needs. Check out the Shoe Covers page of our site for more information.

Spring Sale Now Live

The seasons have officially changed here in Oregon, the sun is finally out, and that means it's time for a bit of Spring Cleaning. In that spirit, we are now offering our annual Spring Sale, featuring 25% discounts on an array of floor protection, remediation supplies, and other useful jobsite materials.

We are featuring a number of floor protection products, which not only protect floors, but also cut down on cleaning costs.

Walk-off Mats are an easy way to prevent dirt and debris from tracking onto jobsite floors. Setting these up at entryways cleans the bottom of boots as people walk across them, and a fresh adhesive sheet is as simple as pulling up and tearing off the old one.

Combining adhesive mats with our cloth shoe covers on sale is an extremely easy and cost effective system to keep floors clean. In conjunction with the above, White-top floor paper is a more durable alternative to standard floor protection paper - while being just as easy to cut and tape into place.

Our popular Jobsite Rules posters are also on sale. These are a great way to reinforce best practices on a jobsite, but they also serve quite well in impressing homeowners and potential buyers who see these on site.

Protect Thresholds and Jambs This Winter

We recently detailed some of the affordable and easy-to-use floor protection products that help with preventing common wintertime damage to floors. Those items included Walk-off Mats, Shoe Covers, and many other types of roll-out floor protection.

This week, we're taking a quick look at protecting doors and thresholds from wintertime damage - and especially important task given everything comes and goes through entryways. Fortunately, protecting threshold and jambs is an easy task.

UV Threshold Tape is the most cost effective threshold protection on the market. Rated for 180 day outdoor use, UV Threshold Tape holds up to six months of use - even in direct outdoor sunlight. The 4" width of the roll makes application quick on standard thresholds, and the 180 linear feet means that one roll is sufficient to protect every threshold on multiple homes. Rolls are sold individually or with a  discount by the case of 12.

Once thresholds have been covered with tape, jambs are next in line to be protected. Fortunately, Jambs are as easy to protect as thresholds.

RamJam Doorjamb covers are reusable snap-on covers that stay attached to jambs with no need for tapes or adhesives. They can attach to most jambs between 4 and 9 inches wide. At 60" tall, RamJambs cover the majority of a doorjamb, and focus protection on the most damage-prone heights of a jamb.

RamJamb covers are available in boxes of 14, or in quantity discounted cases of 50 for large commercial projects (contact us directly to order by the case).

Walk-off Mats and Shoe Covers Keep Floors Clean & Dry In Winter

The arrival of winter also heralds the arrival of wet weather. Rain, snow, and sleet create mud and often find their way into the floors of homes under construction. Keeping floors clean and dry not only protects finishes in a home, prevention also leads to saving time cleaning. Numerous affordable and easy to use methods are available to keep water and mud out of homes.

Walk-off Mats are among the easiest ways to keep mud and water off of new floors. Laying flat on the ground in front of entryways - these adhesive mats feature removable pages that capture and remove the dirt and debris from the bottom of work boots. Sturdy plastic bases keep the mats in place, and the adhesive pages can be replaced with refill packs. At a size of 24" x 36", these walk-off mats are in essence welcome mats for jobsites.

Once the adhesive mats have been used, Shoe Covers are an extremely cost effective second step to protect floors. Multiple types of shoe covers are available, ranging from soft cloth-based (polypropylene) covers to plastic (poly latex) or Tyvek shoe covers ideal for water resistance.

Shoe Covers can be bought in packs of 10, 50, 150, or even 500 pairs for large commercial project use.

Shoe Covers Keep Your Floors Clean

Floors are the most commonly protected finish in commercial and residential construction projects alike. Areas with high foot traffic are typically most often damaged, and therefore should be most often protected. To that end, the quickest, cheapest, and easiest way to protect floors from damage is with shoe covers.

We carry a variety of shoe covers, covering multiple price points and different uses.

Polyethylene - or plastic - shoe covers are the most popular water-resistant floor protection there is. That's because these shoe covers are very affordable, and extremely quick and easy to use. Sized to fit XL workboots, these shoe covers securely fit a vast majority of shoe sizes. Because they're made from durable plastic, these are reusable and easy to clean. Pairs of 10, 50, and 150 are available.

Cloth shoe covers are ideal for short-term use. Whether that is temporary use for showing a new home, working in a medical or lab setting, or any other primarily indoor application, cloth shoe covers are the most cost-effective way to protect floors and feet alike. These are one-size-fits most, and feature an elastic band that securely wraps around the top of a shoe or boot. These are available in pairs of 50, 150, or 500.

The most durable shoe cover we carry is constructed from Tyvek. These Tyvek ProShield shoe covers are waterproof, reusable, and extremely tear-resistant. These are ideal for applications exposed to the elements, construction debris, and in serious laboratory settings. ProShield shoe covers are available in pairs of 10 or 100.

Waterproof Shoe Covers Are Back!

With the onset of meteorological fall upon us, it is only a matter of time until more consistent rain and wet weather is falling on jobsites around the country. With that comes mud, dirt, and other plenty of weather-related ways to mess up flooring.

Polylatex shoe covers are an easy, cheap, and quick way to prevent damage to floors. They are plastic based, which makes them waterproof. This is in contrast to cloth polypropylene shoe covers, most commonly used in medical settings - but not spill resistant.

Because they are made from durable plastic, these poly shoe covers are reusable, and can even be rinsed off and cleaned for further use. At 9 mils thick, they prove to be quite durable. The material construction of these shoe covers features a diamond plate-like skid resistant bottom, making them unlikely to cause slipping, even if used on wet flooring. An elastic band at the top of each shoe cover ensures a secure fit over boots, even large ones.

PPE Supplies are Restocked and Ready For Renovations

As the weather begins to turn along with Spring, renovation and remodel season is also heating up. As these types of projects get started, PPE supplies are an important part of completing them. Whether working in crawlspaces, working with lead paint, or handling water damage from winter, PPE supplies are necessary. We carry an entire catalog of PPE and safety apparel supplies.

Safety Goggles are widely used as a means to protect workers from dust, debris, and any splash hazards on site. Since the outbreak of Covid a year ago, they have been extremely difficult to find, so now is the time to stock up on them for future projects.

Other popular items such as Shoe Covers and Walk-off Mats are common PPE items, as well as effective floor protection methods. These cloth based shoe covers are extremely effective at preventing contamination. and when paired with walk-off mats at entrances they act in conjunction to prevent debris from entering rooms - and the floor damage associated with that.

Many of these items are also featured in our Lead Ready Kits. Lead Ready Kits are pre-assembled packages that feature everything you need to safely meet the EPA requirements for renovations that may involve removing lead contaminants. Coveralls, goggles, gloves, shoe covers, and the EPA mandated literature are all included in these kits, making them the easiest way to ensure you have everything needed to safely work with lead.

Supplies For A Safe Reopening

Since the onset of Covid last March, Negative Air Machines/Air Scrubbers have been among the most back-ordered and most difficult to source items we've attempted to sell. Useful for everything from residential construction to creating negative air space in hospitals, these hot ticket items sell faster than we can stock them.

Shockwave is a disinfectant that is EPA certified to work against Coronaviruses and other pathogens. It is available as either a concentrated formula, or an easy to use RTU solution that is premixed. It is commonly used in healthcare, transportation, and other commercial settings. In addition to commercial uses, Shockwave has been used in residential homes for everything from flood remediation to mold cleanup as part of disaster recovery.

Electrostatic Sprayers are the quickest way to disperse disinfectants such as Shockwave. Backpack mounted, battery operated, and easy to use, Electrostatic Sprayers are the fastest way to uniformly apply disinfectant. These tools work by applying an electric current to a spray-on solution, which then allows the solution to "stick" to and wrap around solid surfaces (for the same reasons your hair is attracted to static electricity). We have these hard-to-find items in stock and ready to ship today.

Our latest press release details the all-new Shockwave RTU virucidal disinfectant formula and our addition of Trimaco's EZ Floor Guard shoe covers to our product line. Builders have been considered an essential business since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, and their product needs have been changing and adapting all along. We're now providing Coronavirus related jobsite signs and posters detailing Coronavirus and steps those on site should take in dealing with it.

We now offer a wide variety of signs and a variety of sizes for builders to use on-site. Furthermore we have signage for hand sanitizer stations/bathroom areas and a reminder to wear face protection and face coverings. We will be continually updating our stock of signs as well as adding new signs and labels.

An entire section of our site is now devoted to Coronavirus supplies. There, you can find the aforementioned jobsite posters and banners, as well as numerous other related supplies. These systems can be used to create temporary walls with negative air pressure inside, and are approved for use in hospital construction.

Toilet Sheath and Other Protective Coronavirus Measures

As building slowly resumes around the country, builders will undoubtedly need to place an emphasis on jobsite cleanliness. Jobsite workers will need PPE gear and special measures to ensure their safety, and customers may be hesitant to build, tour, or buy homes knowing so many people have been working inside. So even though construction may resume, new procedures will need to be enacted.

Fortunately, there are a few easy and affordable ways that builders can protect their workers and display their commitment to cleanliness:

Toilet Sheath

One of the best ways to express jobsite cleanliness to customers is by using the Toilet Sheath. Toilet Sheath is a low-cost cover that quickly slides over the top of a toilet fixture and secures itself with drawstrings around the base of the toilet. In covering the toilet fixture, Toilet Sheath keeps the fixture clean, and prevents people on-site from attempting to use it. Furthermore, customers appreciate the commitment to cleanliness that using the Toilet Sheath conveys.Toilet Sheath is available in Cases of 250, boxes of 50, and packs of 12.

Secondly, Shoe Covers are a cornerstone of PPE and are a fantastic way to demonstrate to customers that your jobsite takes cleanliness and safety seriously. Standard equipment in every hospital, shoe covers prevent dirt and other contaminants from spreading via floors. Shoe Covers are available in numerous materials and box sizes, and are sized large to easily fit around workboots. Cloth, water-resistant plastic, and durable Tyvek shoe covers are all available to order and in stock.

Our Lead Ready Kits feature everything pictured in the image above and as a kit they provide everything that the EPA mandates that workers must wear in order to work around lead. Coveralls, hoods, goggles, respirators, gloves, disposal supplies and informational brochures and checklists are all included, ensuring that even an inexperienced laborer can safely handle, diagnose, label, and dispose of lead.

Keep Your Home's Finishes Protected This Holiday Season

With the holiday season comes holiday parties and whole lot of clean-up. With this in mind, we have written and published a new article detailing how surface protection products can be used to minimize clean up and to minimize any damage caused from high traffic areas.

Floors, stairways, bathroom fixtures, and kitchen finishes can all be damaged by the heavy-use they experience during the holiday season. This commonly leads to hours of clean-up time and potentially some cost in fixing and replacing fixtures. Fortunately taking a few small surface protection steps can prevent this costly holiday headache. Rolling out carpet film on floors and stairs, using shoe covers for holiday home tours, and covering toilet fixtures are just a few of the easy steps detailed in this new article.

Prepping for Mud With Adhesive Walk-Off Mats

With the return of winter weather comes the return of seasonal mud, and all of the effort associated with keeping jobsite floors clean. Whether a jobsite is a custom home or a hospital, walk-off mats are the easiest way to prevent that mud and dirt from being tracked on site.

Walk-off mats are a quick and easy way to prevent dirty jobsite floors. Featuring 30 easily removable pages, walk-off mats remove dirt from boots. Once a page is covered in mud and no longer sticky, it peels off and the next sticky page is ready.

Two variations of walk-off mats are available. We offer a walk-off mat Starter Kit, which features 30 sticky pages and a non-skid plastic base. These are ideal if it is your first time purchasing walk-off mats, or if you are using them in a place with retail traffic. We also offer walk-off mats in bulk, which feature four packs of 30 pages, and do not come with the plastic non-skid baseplate. Once you have a baseplate, ordering the bulk refill packs in the most cost effective way to keep mats on site.

In addition to walk-off mats we carry a wide array of floor protection items as well as shoe covers. Clean & Safe is a great way to keep mud off of hardwood floors, and polyethylene shoe covers are an affordable and quick way to prevent muddied boots from tracking mud into a jobsite. Combining walk-off mats with a water resistant floor protection and shoe covers is a surefire way to keep a jobsite as clean as possible.

Fall Sale on Water-Resistant Surface Protection

To mark the changing of the seasons we're ready to launch our annual fall sale on surface protection designed to keep water and mud off of your jobsite. Shoe Covers, Clean & Safe floor protection, and Walk-off adhesive mats are all on sale. Customers subscribed to our mailing list will receive an email as soon as the sale is live, with links to the featured products.

Shoe Covers are the simplest and easiest way to prevent water damage on finish floors. Plastic shoe covers slide over workboots and are the quickest and most cost-effective way to keep mud off of jobsite floors. Water resistant shoe covers can be bought in packs of 10, 50, and cases of 150 pairs.

The ideal floor protection to combat a wet fall season is Clean & Safe. Both absorbent and water-resistant, Clean & Safe both attracts mud and prevents it from spilling onto the floor beneath. It's also commonly used by painters and interior finish specialists to prevent paint overspray. Furthermore Clean & Safe is reusable ensuring that one roll can be reused and moved around a jobsite as needed. Clean & Safe is sold in a 40" x 164' roll totalling 547 sqft.

Walk-off mats are a popular floor protection and dust control choice for both residential and commercial builders. Sold in packs of 120 total sheets, walk-off mats are placed in front of entryways to limit dust, dirt, and construction debris from being tracked in by workers. Once an adhesive walk-off sheet is covered in dirt, simply pull it off of the pack and another sheet is ready for use.

When combined, floor protection, shoe covers, and walk-off mats create a water tight surface protection system. This prevents falls and accidents, keeps finishes damage free, and also saves time on post-job cleanup.
