US Construction Industry at Highest Level Since 2009

The construction industry continues to improve as the economy slowly regains steam after the Great Recession. According to a new study, construction spending was up to $830 billion - the highest level since December of 2009. That is a 7% improvement over last year and a 0.9% increase in spending since April 2012. Non-residential projects are still slightly stronger than residential, but the gap is closing as home building starts to pick up speed again. Here in San Diego, Builders Site Protection is pleased to note that residential construction is beginning to show signs of life as projects that have been on hold for years start back up.
