Demand for Door Protection Increasing as Construction Picks Up
As the economy has begun improving and construction projects have started picking up speed, an increasing number of builders and contractors are looking for door protection. Builders Site Protection has experienced a huge increase in demand for our Door Guard™ door protection since the beginning of 2013. Many projects that stalled out during the Great Recession have come back online and are reaching the point where products for surface protection and dust control are needed.
The Door Guard™ is unique among door protection devices because it is environmentally-friendly. The Door Guard™ is made from recycled materials and is reusable, as well as being recyclable itself! The gals at Builders Site Protection look forward to helping our customers with door protection and are thrilled to see that the construction industry is moving in the right direction.

New product! The Jimmer Air Vent Filter Bag
Builders Site Protection is now a distributor for the new Jimmer A/C vent filter bag! The Jimmer is a pre-taped filter bag that covers the return grilles to filter dust and debris before it enters the air ducts in both new construction and renovations. It is easily applied and removed and extends the life of the primary filter by helping keep the air handler coils from collecting excessive dust and debris.
The Jimmer fits over most vent openings and will stick to drywall, wood, metal, and acoustic ceiling tiles. Its great for customer service. Customers appreciate contractors taking the extra step to keep their A/C ducts clean and clear of fiberglass, rust, metal shavings, or dirt.

Construction Spending Reaches Three Year High in December
It looks like the economy is improving more quickly than previously thought! I posted about the sluggish growth forecast for 2013 several weeks ago, but recent data analysis suggests that construction spending wasn't as low as projected. According to the Commerce Department, construction spending increased 0.9% in December to an annual rate of $885 billion. Analysts only expected a 0.6% gain. Most of the gains came from private residential building projects, which increased 2.2 percent and reflects the country's improving housing market.
Along with government austerity measures, public sector construction has begun to fall. Public sector spending on construction fell 1.4 percent, which is the lowest its been since November 2006. If you have any updated news about construction spending or want to share with Builders Site Protection the building climate in your town, post a comment!
